Overview

Chord Spell is a music education app that helps you learn to spell chords on a piano keyboard. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data is collected and how it is used.

Data We Collect

Chord Spell does not collect any personal information. There are no user accounts, no login, and no analytics.

Your wrong answer history and preferences are stored locally on your device and synced via Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store if you are signed in to iCloud. This data never leaves Apple's ecosystem and is not accessible to us.

Third-Party Advertising

The free version of Chord Spell displays banner ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device-level data to serve ads, including:

• Advertising identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA)
• IP address and approximate location
• Device and app information (e.g., device model, OS version, app version)
• Usage data and interaction with ads

This data is used to serve relevant ads and is not linked to your personal identity. Third-party advertising partners, including Google, may use this information in accordance with their own privacy policies.

You can remove all ads permanently through a one-time in-app purchase.

App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

On iOS 14.5 and later, Chord Spell requests permission to access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) via Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. If you decline, ads will still be shown but will not be personalized based on your activity across other apps and websites.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer any personal data to third parties, other than the advertising data collected by Google AdMob as described above.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Chord Spell is not directed at children under the age of 13. Although the app carries a 4+ age rating on the App Store, it is a music education tool intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

The Google AdMob SDK integrated in this app is configured as non-child-directed. We do not use interest-based advertising targeting users known to be under 13.

European Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, the following applies:

• Chord Spell itself does not collect personal data.
• Google AdMob may collect data for advertising purposes. We use Google's consent management functionality to obtain your consent before personalized ads are served, where required by law.
• You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any data held about you. For data held by Google AdMob, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.
• For any privacy requests related to our own data practices, contact us at the address below.

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to Know: You may request information about the personal data we collect and how it is used.
• Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal data. Note that Chord Spell stores no personal data on our end.
• Right to Opt Out of Sale: We do not sell your personal data.
